The Sony HXR-MC1P Camera is an easy to use HD
camera system, consisting of a small camera head and a hand-held
controlling unit with LCD panel and recording function. This
tiny all-in-one HD camera system needs no extra equipment —
simply take it out and start shooting.
The camera unit is splash-proof, allowing safe use in tough
outdoor conditions, such as rain or when you are shooting near
water. Furthermore, the unique style of the HXR-MC1P enables
users to record HD video in unusual conditions and from
interesting angles, such as shooting a sports scene from the
sports person’s point of view or a motor sport event from
onboard a vehicle. Thanks to the built-in LCD panel on the main
unit, users can play back and review their material immediately
after it has been shot. The HXR-MC1P Camera and recorder opens

The unit records Sony's 1080i as well as DV and DVCAM. The HVR-M35U can output to Serial Digital Interface (SDI), which supports an uncompressed signal for unmatched image quality in both standard and high definition. Additional features include advanced time code settings, assignable buttons, and a front mounted 2.7" LCD.

The HVR-M15P enable users to record and play
back video in a choice of formats - HDV 1080i, DVCAM and DV. It
also feature a down-conversion capability for 1080i recording,
which provides the flexibility to record in either standard
definition (SD) or high definition (HD) depending on your
production needs.
One of the most powerful features of these VTR is it's
compatibility with standard cassettes in addition to mini
cassettes, which provides extended recording time of up to 276
minutes. In addition, it provide a convenient function to copy
not just the video and audio of an original tape via an i.LINK
connection, but also the time code.
It is optimized for use with nonlinear editing systems thanks to
their highly compact size and easy operations.
